im liking "a" and "e" the arrow is progressive and the ligature is smooth
if i had to choose one back ground its the circle cause it re-enforces the
counter and stroke of the "d" and the dot of the i

i am liking 1.b. the most. i think the cmyk palette is appropriate since we design for print and the rgb just doesn't pop as much in my opinion. i think the trimmed "d" tail keeps it from reading "dp" and i think the "di" is communicated. i liked the triangle from the 1.a. dotting the "i" kind of saying up and elevation and raise but i feel the circle is clean and maybe works even better overall. - kb

1b the "i" reminds me of a lightbulb (like as in idea). cmyk thing seems incredibly appropriately relevant (in yo face kb! my appropriate is more appropriate)
